Still Fighting the Good Fight

Two Stylish Sisters of a Certain Age

  1. We wish everyone the best for 2012.
We love the holidays for so many reasons, sparkly decorations, Christmas cookies, presents, dog outfits, and the Nutcracker. Nothing is more fun than getting dressed up for the ballet. And we are happy to report that it was a beautiful, traditional Nutcracker. No funny business.
p.s. Please don’t ask why this photo is so off center. One of our resolutions for the new year is to actually look at the view finder when taking pictures.

  3. You may not be aware of this, but dressing up dogs in outfits is a big part of celebrating Jewish Christmas. Unfortunately, Annabelle isn’t that crazy about her santa suit. This year, even our dog visitors were dressed up. Harmony the chihuahua mix in a taffeta skirt, Hamlet the pug in a tuxedo, and Chester the shih tzu in a festive bandana.

We will get back to regular posting after the New Year, so please stay tuned!

  5. I wore a penguin holiday sweater with a matching penguin brooch and socks. This is why I can’t imagine not celebrating Christmas. Hannukah just doesn’t have the same level of festive attire.

  7. I dressed up like an extra from Doctor Zhivago to go out to dinner. Aren’t fuzzy hats the best?

  9. We had a nice dinner at Marie Callender’s with Alice and Ruth R. Ruth is the winner of our Steven Pressfield book giveaway! She wrote a lovely entry. It is so nice to have her support for our blog.

  11. Ruthie had the cutest dog house guests last week. Sparkles is the tiniest Yorkie you have ever seen in your life and Bella is a gorgeous Bichon Frise. Our Gracie is not a purebred Bichon, but don’t her pink ribbons look fetching?

  13. This is what I wore to the Viva Elvis show. It was wonderful. I inherited this gorgeous cape from my friend Pam’s mother Miriam. (It is real, but because it is vintage my conscience is clear.) Once you are wearing a furry cape, why not through a furry purse into the mix?

  15. We got dressed up to go to the ballet. Unfortunately, this wasn’t ballet with tutus. And there wasn’t a sequin in sight. It was just a lot of flailing around in outfits that looked like underwear. And the men didn’t even shave their chests!

  19. We threw an 80th birthday party for Leah’s mother in law, so obviously we had to bring out the cleavage.
